unable to sign or encrypt message certificate not installed
It turns out that, for some reason, the option to sign outgoing messages had been turned on by accident - without any client certificate installed for this feature to actually work.
To fix it - there are two options:
1) Install a client certificate if you actually want to sign outgoing emails.
2) Turn signing off.
Hardly anyone signs emails and I am guessing that most people who want to use it will already know how to!
As for turning signing off, it is pretty straight forward.
1. Go to Email settings (Easiest is in the email client, click the menu button and go to settings).
2. Go down to Security Options
3. Untick sign.

ReplyDeleteWhen someone sends you a signed email on reply it automaticly clicks it so you need to go and unclick it. Any idea on how to set it so this does not happen. I am not having this problem on any other devices.. any ideas?

DeleteIt turns out that signing can get turned on for individual emails even if the global settings are turned off, particularly if you are replying to an existing email. To turn off:
ReplyDelete1) tap OK on the error message
2) with the message you're trying to send still open, tap the menu button
3) tap "Security"
4) Untick the check box(es) by "sign" and/or "encrypt" as necessary.
i have deselected the sing and encrypt boxes from the settings and security settings for my account. I have also checked that when I have the the e-mail I want to send open the same boxes are not checked in the security tap. When i try to send the message it goes to the outbox but it stays there. It is not delivered even after 10 minutes.
